Hello, we're A57 Coffee, a small family-owned brand based in California with roots in Hue, Vietnam.

Coffee has always been part of our family's daily life. Today, we partner with our relatives in Vietnam to source high-quality beans that shine whether brewed with a traditional phin filter or an espresso machine. Wherever you are, we're here to bring an authentic taste of Vietnamese coffee to your cup.

How it started

Coffee runs deep in my family. My sister owns a coffee shop in Saigon, and during my visit to Vietnam in 2023, I discovered that espresso machines had become increasingly popular there. At every coffee shop I visited, I noticed a mix of customers who preferred traditional phin-style coffee and most of the new generations loved the coffee made with espresso machines. 

In recent decades, Vietnamese coffee beans have evolved significantly. With the right blend of Arabica and Robusta beans and carefully honed roasting techniques, Vietnamese coffee has become perfectly suited for espresso machines. These innovations have paved the way for creating delicious espresso drinks, further expanding the versatility and appeal of Vietnamese coffee.

I was amazed at how versatile and flavorful Vietnamese robusta beans could be, even when brewed using Western methods like an espresso machine. Inspired by my sister's craft and my cousin's expertise as a coffee bean supplier, I started A57 Coffee to share Vietnam’s rich coffee culture with America. My mission is to showcase how extraordinary Vietnamese coffee beans can be with the right selection and roasting, you can create a great cup of cà phê sửa đá with an espresso machine if you don't own a phin filter.

What Does “A57” Stand For?

The name "A57" is a tribute to my parents. "A" represents my dad’s last name initial, and "57" honors the year my mom was born. My parents are my role models, and their love and care for each other inspire me daily. This name reminds me to approach everything including this business with the same love, care, and dedication they have shown me.

Where Is Your Coffee Roasted?

We prioritize freshness and quality above all else. Each batch consists of only 50 pounds of coffee, and we do not ship a new batch until the current one is sold out. This ensures that every order delivers the freshest coffee possible.

Our coffee is carefully selected and roasted in Saigon, Vietnam, and then packaged with love in California.

Why Vietnamese Robusta Beans?

Vietnam is the second-largest coffee producer in the world, following Brazil. Robusta coffee beans typically contain nearly double the caffeine content of arabica beans—approximately 2.2% caffeine compared to 1.2% in arabica. Despite their higher caffeine levels and robust flavor profile, robusta beans often suffer from misconceptions about their quality and taste.

At A57 Coffee, we aim to change these perceptions. With the right roasting methods and blends, Vietnamese robusta beans can shine, whether brewed with an espresso machine, phin filter, or other methods. We’re here to showcase their potential and help you experience the richness and versatility of robusta coffee.
